Who would have thought that there would be RAIN in the rainforest in the middle of winter? Well, not me, but apparently that's the way it is. Just got back from two days in Kuranda, this tiny little town in the rainforest. Very quaint. Very touristy, but also relaxing. I do love rainforests. Went on some jungle walks (they like to say "treks" but you're mostly on a paved sidewalk through the forest) and went to an animal sanctuary to see some aussie animals that I hadn't yet seen.
Our hostel was a rambling old mansion with a huge garden and a spindly man named Hans running the show. Very very peaceful. Did a lot of reading and drinking tea.
Back in Cairns and it's actually sunny!!
