Okay, so I'm alive. I'm sorry that I haven't posted in so long, for all those who check these things daily. I don't have a computer yet so I am doing this from school. Yes, SCHOOL. I have started Library School. I still can't really believe it. I am dropping down from full-time to part-time so that I can work while doing it. At the beginning of any semester, I can switch back, if I decide I want to be full-time again.
People in the program seem really nice for the most part. Some oddities but that's to be expected when it's a profession that can work in stacks of books and dusty basements. The second year students are all really nice and keen to help us out, sell us textbooks (saving us money) and gives us the in on which teachers are great or not.
And I've moved into my new apartment. I am going to try to paint my room this weekend and I'm getting some more furniture on Sunday (a real bed) from my awesome roommate who is graciously getting me a bed from her parents' house for me.
As for Montreal, it's nice to be back. I wasn't sure at first, but it is a city that I love and it feels like home, so I'm happy to be back here. There, update complete. Hope you're all well!

Have you tied your hair into a "bun" yet? I heard that is a pre-requisite for getting into the library course, isn't it? That, and being able to "shush" REALLY loud.
I actually have a librarian action figure that 'shushes' when you push her button in her back. (Thanks Mel!)
ah yes, I have heard about that "action" figure - "Conan the Librarian". Armed with the power to shush people into a deadly silence and sort books faster than a speeding bullet, he fights illiteracy and supports the arts wherever he goes. Alongside him in his fight to rid the world of reluctant-readers and the culturally-challenged are "the Incredible Historian" and "Antiquarian Man". Together they must protect the world against their sworn enemy, the dastardly "Dewey Decimal".
