How Fred met Dawn - Part 2: the secret email

After a few days of email overload from the members in the group, I decided I was going to quit. Then I realised that instead of quitting, I could just cheat and it might be more fun. So I emailed Fred.

Subject: can you keep a secret?

Hey there, how are you?

I don't really know you, I met you for about 30 seconds at my house (aka Sarah's house) for her 30th birthday and I'm sure you don't remember...but anyway, I'm in this silly date challenge thing. As the only male in the group, I need to know ... can you keep a secret...?

Sarah's roommate,
Dawn

He said he could keep a secret. So I asked him what his biggest secret was, and he said he couldn't tell me, which of course, was the perfect answer.

He didn't remember me, and I vaguely remembered him from a party we'd had a few weeks before.

And so a secret semi-blind date was set up. Or at least, I thought it was secret.

That's awesome Dawn! I so should try this out myself... perhaps... if I can muster up the courage... :)

there is much to learn from fred. i would have fallen right into your "can you keep a secret...ok, then tell me your biggest secret" trap. if you pour wine down my throat, or tickle me, or tempt me with chocolate -(lord knows what would happen if you did all 3!)- all notions of confidentiality float away.
i also love that you made the first move. it's not about all good things coming to those who wait. it's about all good things coming to those who go out and get them!
