....and I got a job offer!
Strangest story -- So I'm standing the rain, in the dark, under my umbrella, waiting for Fred to pick me up from school last night at about 8:30. It's pouring. I'm on a busy corner and this car pulls up and slows as it nears the corner (as cars do) and the lady driving it is peering in my direction. I thought she was lost. And Montreal is famous for its confusing street/parking signs so I thought maybe she was reading signs. She pulls over, and gets out the car. (I'm taking to Fred on the phone, btw.)
So whe walks up to me and i think she's going to ask me directions...and then I realise that it's the woman who interviewed me on Monday for the gold place. She doesn't have a coat on and I'm trying to shield her with the umbrella, and she's talking to me all about the job and how they are trying to get the director to agree to a permanent position instead of a contract (because that's what I said I wanted) and asking if I could meet with them next week to go over the paperwork and meet thethe execs, etc. Basically offering me a job. On the street, at 8:30pm in the pouring rain. Crazy.
I had an interview with McGill too (where I work now but in another dept) and it was pretty much just a lip service meeting...they already have an internal candidate in mind but have to do other interviews to make it look like they were giving interviews. Kind of annoying but oh well.

that's great. Perhaps the folks at kitco will be more quirky and fun than they let on. How was Ottawa! Yay~
