Chemin du Roy

Fred & I are going on a roadtrip tomorrow. We'll be driving (or rather, he'll probably be driving) along the northern shore of the St. Lawrence from Montreal to Quebec on the Chemin du Roy ("King's Highway"). Construction was first completed in 1737 and at that time it took 2 days "at full gallop" to get between the two cities. But since the highway was built, not many use the old road for commuting. Apparently filled with "historic villages" with beautiful scenery there are many references to Samuel de Champlain and Jacques Cartier like their old fur trading posts and other ancient stuff. Final destination will be gorgeous Quebec for dinner. I'll update with pictures and stories when we get back. Happy long weekend!
