Yep, they are. I try to be nice. I try and I try. And sometimes, it just doesn't work out.
I have an assigned partner in one of my classes (same partner all term. For the two weeks before first major assignment was due, my partner went to Edmonton on vacation. Yep, that's the time when you're supposed to be working on the assignment. He was on vacation. So I did it alone. He agreed to do the final project alone as repayment. He fell ill. He got notes from doctors. He missed 6 weeks of class. I kept asking for the work he'd done so far so that I could finalize the project and be done with it. I got nothing. Hours before the assignment was due (after the first extension), I find out he went behind my back and asked the prof for a second extension. Nice. We look smart. Anyway, the story goes on but the result is that now because of his stupidity (we've only had 2 months to do this project), I have 10 days to start and finish my own from scratch and hand it in separately from his. Like I have time for this crap. Grr!
I must say that Fred has been incredibly patient during this whole ordeal...listening to me rant, cry, hate. So lucky to have him!
In 10 days the term will be over.
In 4 days I will be sitting at the base of Tremblant, studying with a mountain view. Can't wait!

Sounds like the same partners James had. haha. I remember first meeting him alone in the lab... :(
Well, good luck. You're a smartie - I'm sure you'll do fine!
that really sucks. what an ass!
i'm so impressed by all you're managing to do: work, school, extra-assignments at the last minute, etc. it's totally inspiring.
just keeping thinking about tremblay and the eventual finish line.

Ouch, I feel for you. What a jerk. Stiff upper lip, and all that... Good luck with your assignment; you'll do awesome! Mountain air helps everything. :-)
3 days to mountain air and counting...
(and when are universites going to realize that assinged partners are how I imagine arranged marriages to be - sometimes good, sometimes tolerable and sometimes it takes all your might not to strangle the person)
hahahaha! you guys are the best! thanks for the encouragement!
