PIC - of a bar I went to Saturday night, Croft Institute
Saturday night was full-on bar hopping, with my flatmate Sam and her friends from Sydney (well, they live in Sydney now but they are really from Finland & Glasgow).
After eating the best vegetarian food I've ever had, at the Veggie Bar in Fitzroy, we went to a ton of fun (almost hidden) bars around Melbourne...the kind that you find in back alleys and little laneways filled with graffiti.
Some of the places we went:
Cherry Bar - a lush red velvet curtain makes the whole place glow red.
St. Jerome's - a bar between buildings...so it's mostly outside, surrounded by the walls of some corporate buildings, with djs & fun lights, and a cute bearded bartender.
Croft Institute - an old lab, so the tables are lab benches (with sinks) and the bathroom looks like a high school infimary, complete with a stretcher bed.
Honky Tonks - a more typical bar, with a good dj, fun cocktails (they had Caesars!) and lots of dancing.
Only 3 more work days!
