Just got back from my first ever doctor's visit in Australia. I needed to refill a prescription. They have a two-tiered system here, where you pay for some things, but other things are covered. To see a doctor, you pay a set fee for the number of minutes that you are with them. For this clinic, it was $54 for 0-9 min, $99 for 9-20 and so on. If you're covered by some kind of medicare, you can claim it and get some money back.

So I went to pay for my 5 minutes of time with the doctor, and the receptionist says, "We're having a sale today!" So instead of $54, it was only $43. A sale. At the doctor's. What's next? Get 9 warts removed, and the 10th is free? Free syphilis test with the purchase of a chlamydia test? Does anybody else find this strange?
