Habs won! Jose Theodore, whom the French call Théo (pronounced Tay-o), was the superstar last night. The game was great, complete with overtime and a shootout -- Theodore made a dramatic glove save and Pierre Dagenais made the winning shot. Fun was had by all. I amazed myself by knowing enough hockey rules to explain everything to Jill. Funny notes:
- I have never seen a game (other than James' teams) with so many penalties. Habs had 26 min from 13 penalties! Almost half the game was a power play for the Thrashers.
- I have never watched a live sporting game surrounded by francophones. Sacrément! Tabernac! Funny stuff.
- Most of the LCD signs were in English, like "GO HABS GO" or "Charge!". A few were in French and others were somewhere in between. Our fav was "Lait's Go" which is how a francophone would phonetically say "Let's Go"...but it literally translates to "Milk's Go!" Ah, bilingualism at its finest.

Lait's go is the brand name equivalent of milk sold under the English name of Milk to Go. I photographed a bottle of the product when I was in Vancouver recently. Call it subliminal advertising. A rather original adaptation from a business point of view.
