Love the Feedback!

You guys are awesome. No, we're not getting the place in the previous post. One of my requirements for buying or renting any place is being able to take my mother there without a blindfold. This does not pass that test.

I *do* want to see it though. Just to see why it's so cheap.

To answer your questions:

A lot of postings here indicate they have 1 water heater. I think this is a) instead of oil heaters, and b) because there are a lot of "duplexes" and "triplexes" here. In Montreal-speak means a 2- or 3-level house which is divided into 2 or 3 separate apartments (one per floor), and then the number of water heaters becomes a a concern.

I would get an inspection.

You're right Mir, some parts of the east are sketch, but this place is actually in Lachine, which is west of downtown but before Dorval (airport), on the water. It too, can be a 'hood but not all parts of it are. But I'm learning that some of the places I thought were sketchy are actually not, and vice versa...funny how opinions of that change as you get older and get to know a city better. :)

If I get to see the inside for real, I'll let you know. (And then tell you what's really wrong with it.)
